SCROLL

Sitting opposite the Palácio de Carnide, Carmim catches our eye.
An entire block blossoms into a collection of renovated homes and colourful gardens.
Carmim comprises a number of constructions of no more than three storeys, which occupy almost the entire block in the layout of a small country estate.
The project offers a choice of detached houses, two-storey apartments and a loft unit arranged around green spaces with garage parking included.

The interiors are completely reworked in a modern and elegant design, making the most of the particularities of the different buildings. Shared and private spaces have been divided with subtlety and imagination, enlarging the living areas without sacrificing privacy.

The whole building is transformed into a three-bedroom, two-storey house with a 70m² secluded garden.
This two-storey detached house is converted into a designer one-bedroom residence with views of the Palácio de Carnide.

Viewed from the window, the colours of the garden draw us to seek inspiration outdoors.

Carmim is perfect for cultivating privacy, the silence allows nature’s melodies to take a leading role.

“Because of its scale, and the very close relationship it implies with our customers, housing is always closer to us and remains the central body of our work.”

Carnide is a parish of sharp contrasts between the old and new, with Carmim located in the protected area of Carnide Velho, or old Carnide, where its traditionally rural aspect is largely preserved.
The ancient cobblestones, typical neighbourhood restaurants and small shops with their faithful clientele complete the picture of tranquillity amid the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Carnide is traditionally known for its fertile and well-watered land. Up to the 19th century, the land bordering the Palácio de Carnide, built in 1763, belonged to Quinta Grande, the large country estate owned by the Counts of Carnide. The clearing occupied today by the Largo do Jogo da Bola was the place chosen by the counts and their guests for sporting activities, especially jogo da bola or jeu de paume – a precursor to modern tennis.
