São Vicente and Terra Alta come together to create a distinctive new hospitality destination, rooted in the natural beauty and character of Pico in the Portuguese Azorean islands. Partnering with a leading international brand renowned for remote luxury, the two complementary projects will introduce more than 100 thoughtfully designed keys, offering guests an immersive experience where nature, design, and authentic island living meet.

Located within one of Pico’s historic vineyard landscapes, São Vicente connects the island’s cultural identity with its extraordinary natural environment.
The project enjoys immediate proximity to forests, vineyards and the Atlantic Ocean, creating a unique balance between village life, protected landscapes and contemporary architecture.

The experience will be grounded in ecotourism and discreet luxury, with a strong emphasis on nature, wellness and authentic local experiences. Guests will move between the stillness of the landscape, the richness of Pico’s vineyard culture and the openness of the Atlantic, discovering a destination where hospitality is inseparable from its surroundings. The ambition is to create a distinctive retreat that feels both deeply rooted in Pico and naturally part of its future.

The experience begins in the village, continues through the forest and unfolds towards the UNESCO vineyards before opening onto the Atlantic horizon.

Architecture follows the existing volcanic stone walls, allowing every house to feel embedded within Pico's unique cultural landscape rather than simply overlooking it.

Walking paths, filtered light, native vegetation and the sounds of the forest create a slower and more intimate way of experiencing Pico Island.
Morim Santos Silva develops architecture deeply rooted in place, culture and landscape. Their work seeks to reveal the identity of each site rather than impose a predefined language, creating contemporary projects that naturally emerge from their surroundings.
Strongly connected to Pico Island, the studio has dedicated many years to researching traditional construction techniques, preserving local architectural heritage and reinterpreting vernacular principles for contemporary living.
“Architecture should not compete with nature. It should reveal what already exists.”
