Terra Alta and São Vicente come together to create a distinctive new hospitality destination, rooted in the natural beauty and character of Pico in the Portuguese Azorean islands. Partnering with a leading international brand renowned for remote luxury, the two complementary projects will introduce more than 100 thoughtfully designed keys, offering guests an immersive experience where nature, design, and authentic island living meet.

Located on Pico’s spectacular north-east coast, Terra Alta enjoys a privileged position overlooking the São Jorge Channel, surrounded by ecological reserves and untouched Atlantic landscapes.
Its secluded setting combines complete privacy with direct access to Pico’s natural and cultural heritage, offering an authentic experience shaped by nature, volcanic geology and ocean views.

The experience will be grounded in ecotourism and discreet luxury, with a strong emphasis on nature, wellness and authentic local experiences. Guests will move between the stillness of the landscape, the richness of Pico’s vineyard culture and the openness of the Atlantic, discovering a destination where hospitality is inseparable from its surroundings. The ambition is to create a distinctive retreat that feels both deeply rooted in Pico and naturally part of its future.

Each villa is positioned within the natural terraces of the landscape, offering uninterrupted views across the Atlantic towards São Jorge Island while preserving complete privacy.

Silence, fresh Atlantic air, slow rhythms and generous outdoor spaces create an environment where everyday life naturally reconnects with nature.

Stone walls, native vegetation and volcanic topography extend the living spaces beyond the architecture itself, creating an immersive relationship between interior and landscape.
Morim Santos Silva develops architecture deeply rooted in place, culture and landscape. Their work seeks to reveal the identity of each site rather than impose a predefined language, creating contemporary projects that naturally emerge from their surroundings.
Strongly connected to Pico Island, the studio has dedicated many years to researching traditional construction techniques, preserving local architectural heritage and reinterpreting vernacular principles for contemporary living.
“Architecture should not compete with nature. It should reveal what already exists.”
Morim Santos Silva
